Only 7 years ago Pradip Gurung “PG” was entering the United States on a work visa from his native country of Nepal.
In Nepal, “PG” was a businessman, who went bankrupt and had to start over. He travelled to the US for a fresh start and new opportunity, never looking back. Landing in Virginia, First, PG became a waiter at a local restaurant to make ends meet. What he was making was barely enough to provide for his then growing family and PG needed a change. To make more money “PG” decided to get his CDL and started working for an “OTR” trucking company of which he was fired from only after a year.
He continued to drive for other companies until a rollover caused him to be let go from his last. Difficult to find employment PG’s only choice was to get his own truck and become an owner-operator. By this time PG was saving his money and decided he would purchase his own truck and another shortly afterwards. He would also convince a friend from his community “ Shaan” to get into the trucking business with him and also purchase a few trucks of his own. The two decided to go into business together.
Fate would have it that they would find a distressed intermodal trucking business in Virginia Beach, VA and be able to purchase it for just 10K right before the pandemic hit. The business needed work and After investing an additional 100K and working through the pandemic they got it up and running. Fast forward under 2 years later, PG and his team now own 40 + Trucks, Employ 50 + drivers and have a full office staff of 14 people working to grow Blue Dolphin Transportation.
The company is currently doing a million dollars per month in revenue and have no plans on slowing down currently In The process of adding 10 more trucks to the fleet. PG and his team have plans to become one of the biggest names In the trucking industry and make an impact in the intermodal scene.
With the companies humble beginnings you can’t help but to route for their continued success. This is a must-hear story for anyone who is afraid of taking the leap and starting their own trucking business.

Sisters, Lashanta & Lateasha Witherspoon literally cross each other T’s and dot each other I’s. The sisters are 2nd generation trucking entrepreneurs, and daughters of Gregory Witherspoon Sr., a longtime trucker and owner-operator. Lashanta and Lateasha are the proud CEO’s of LLG Transportation Consultants, LLC. LLG Transportation Consultants is a one-stop-shop for all your trucking and transportation needs.
The two L’s stand for Lashanta and Lateasha and the “G” stands for their late brother Gregory Jr. who passed away in 2004 due to lymphoma cancer. The “G” also stands for their father Gregory Witherspoon Sr. They wanted to make sure they kept their brother’s name alive to have him with them as they built their trucking empire and grew the family business. Growing up in one of Alabama’s poorest counties, they were determined to experience life and create generational wealth.
They moved to Dallas and established LLG Transportation Consultants in January 2019 after noticing their father and other truck drivers needed assistance with running their back-office, accounting, and compliance. They officially launched their business in November of 2020. Fast forward Only 12 months later (November  2021) they have over 400 clients and growing! To date, LLG Transportation Consultants LLC has assisted over 100 clients to start their trucking companies and they are just getting started.

With E-commerce Booming and accounting for 27% of all consumer purchases, the last mile sector has become a particularly attractive part of the logistics supply chain for many entrepreneurs.
Aligning yourself with the logistical leaders in this space can be a smart way to strategically sustain and quickly grow a transportation business. With good execution, you are able to implement already proven systems, have access to large networks and also maintain a consistent customer.
That said, one of these Mega Carriers, Fed-Ex Ground, have always uniquely offered the opportunity to buy your way in, Unlike some of its competitors. FedEx Ground is made up of 5,600 independent contractors all of who “Own” the Fed Ex Ground routes or (zip code) deliveries Collectively, these entrepreneurs make up an entire network of last-mile solutions providers (CSP’s) all operating under FedEx’s DOT authority.
This provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to basically purchase a “turn-key” transportation business. Spencer Patton, Founder and President of Route Consultant, purchased his first FedEx Ground operation at age 26 in 2013 (10 Routes) online and now oversees 225 employees and 275 fleets of vehicles on the road making him “The Largest FedEx Contractor in the US.
